Trump thanked the United States Secret Service for their quick action. He said one security officer was injured but survived because he was wearing a bulletproof vest. The attacker was caught at the spot.
Trump said this kind of attack will not stop his work. He also mentioned that it will not change his stand against Iran.
He also raised questions about the safety at the Washington Hilton, where the event took place. He said stronger security is needed in the future.
Trump made it clear that public events will continue. He said, “We cannot stop meeting people.”
Earlier, he posted online that the place was cleared quickly for safety. He confirmed that First Lady Melania Trump and Vice President JD Vance are safe.
He also said the event will be held again within 30 days.
