New Delhi: People were unsure this year because February 1 falls on a Sunday. Many wondered whether the Union Budget would be presented on Sunday or moved to Monday. The government has now cleared all doubts.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget 2026–27 on Sunday, February 1. This is the first time ever that the country’s annual budget will be presented on a Sunday.
The government has also announced the full schedule of the Budget Session of Parliament. The session will begin on January 28 with the President’s address to both Houses of Parliament. The Economic Survey, which shows the state of the economy, will be presented on January 29.
The first phase of the Budget Session will continue till February 13. After a short break, the second phase will start on March 9 and will end on April 2.
