Nashik: Police are currently investigating self-styled godman Ashok Kharat in a case related to sexual exploitation of women. The inquiry is being handled by a Special Investigation Team (SIT), and new details are coming out.
In the middle of this case, a sad incident has happened. Kharat’s close associate, Jitendra Shelke, died in a road accident today.
The accident took place on the Samruddhi Expressway. Shelke’s car hit a parked container from behind. The crash was very serious, and the car went under the container.
Jitendra Shelke died on the spot. His wife, Anuradha Shelke, also lost her life in the accident. Their son is badly injured and is being treated.
The family was travelling from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar to Shirdi when the accident happened near Dhotre village.
Jitendra Shelke was the vice president of Kharat’s Shivanika Trust and also had business links with him. Reports say Shelke was under stress after Kharat was arrested.
This accident has added more tension to the ongoing case.
