Mumbai: A big oil tanker named Shenlong Suezmax has safely reached Mumbai after crossing the dangerous Strait of Hormuz. The ship was carrying crude oil from Saudi Arabia and is sailing under the flag of Liberia.
The tanker started its journey from a Saudi Arabian port with a large amount of crude oil. Even though there are tensions in the Middle East and concerns about safety in the sea route, the ship successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz and arrived safely at Mumbai Port.
The Strait of Hormuz is one of the most important sea routes in the world. A large amount of the world’s oil passes through this narrow route every day. Because of recent conflicts in the region, many ships were worried about using this route.
India imports a big part of its crude oil from Middle Eastern countries, and most of this oil comes through the Strait of Hormuz. So the safe arrival of this tanker is important for India’s energy supply.Experts say that if ships continue to move safely through this route, it will help keep the supply of oil steady and prevent a sudden rise in fuel prices.
