Nashik: Kalpana Kharat, wife of accused Ashok Kharat, is in more trouble. A case has been filed against her at Shirdi Police Station in a farmer land cheating case.
She had asked the court for pre-arrest bail, but the Rahata court refused her request after hearing both sides for more than an hour. Her lawyer Prashant Giri tried to support her, but the government lawyer and police opposed it. The court then rejected her bail.
Kalpana has been missing since March 31. Police are trying hard to find her. A special police team has questioned her friends in Nashik. They are also talking to people who worked at her house to get more details.
Police say she cheated a farmer in a land deal in Shirdi. Money in this case was sent through her brothers’ bank accounts. Police have already questioned her son Harshvardhan and her two brothers.
Police have also issued a lookout notice so that she cannot leave the country.
Kalpana Kharat’s real name is Sunita Shinde. She is from Padali village in Sinnar, Nashik. She studied till school level and got married to Ashok Kharat in 1993. They have two daughters and one son. Police say she was also involved in her husband’s illegal work.
