New Delhi: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has taken control of two cargo ships in the sea. One of these ships was coming to India, which has raised safety concerns.
The ships are named MSC Francesca and Epaminodes. Reports say that Epaminodes started its journey from Dubai and was going to Mundra Port in India when Iran stopped it and took it away.
Iran’s navy said the ships did not have proper permission and had issues with their tracking systems. Because of this, Iran seized them and is now taking them to its own waters for checking.
This incident has worried India because one ship was coming to an Indian port. It may also affect trade and shipping routes.
Iran has also warned that it may attack American oil companies in West Asia if there is any attack on its own facilities.
Earlier, there were reports of firing on three ships near the Strait of Hormuz, a very important sea route for global trade.
This shows that tension is still high between United States and Iran.
