Nagpur: A case of corruption has come out from the District Collector’s office in Nagpur. A revenue assistant, Naresh Barve (54), was caught while taking a bribe of ₹5 lakh.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) took this action on Friday night (April 24) in the Nandanvan area. Officials said the accused had asked for money to settle a construction-related appeal case.
The person who was asked for the bribe did not want to pay and informed the ACB. After checking the complaint, the ACB team made a plan to catch the accused.
Barve was caught while taking the money and was taken into custody immediately. A case has been filed against him, and further investigation is going on.
This incident has created concern about corruption in government offices. Officials said strict action will be taken.
