New Delhi: Doors of Kedarnath Temple opened for devotees on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 8:00 AM. As the gates opened, chants of “Har Har Mahadev” filled the air, creating a spiritual atmosphere.
Thousands of pilgrims arrived early to get the first view of the temple. Kedarnath is one of the most important places in the Char Dham Yatra. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was also present at the opening.
Kedarnath Temple is located near the Mandakini River in Uttarakhand. It is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and holds great religious importance.
The Kedarnath Yatra will continue for the next six months. People who want to visit must register in advance. Those above 55 years of age are also advised to complete a medical check-up before the journey.
The doors of Badrinath Temple will open on April 23 at 6:15 AM. The temples of Gangotri Temple and Yamunotri Temple were already opened on April 19 on Akshaya Tritiya.
With this, the Char Dham Yatra 2026 has officially begun, attracting thousands of devotees from across the country.
