Raigad: A major road accident happened in Alibag taluka of Raigad district. A pickup tempo carrying 21 people overturned near Borghar bridge. One person died in the accident and 20 others were injured.
According to reports, all the passengers were workers of a GAIL company. They were travelling to Ramraj in Alibag to offer Namaz during Ramadan. While they were on the way, the driver lost control of the vehicle and the pickup tempo suddenly overturned on the road.
One person died on the spot, while the other 20 people were injured. After the accident, local people and police quickly reached the spot and helped the injured.All the injured were taken to the District Hospital in Alibag for treatment. Some of them are said to be in serious condition. Police are now looking into the exact cause of the accident.
