Nagpur: Cyber Police have registered a case after offensive and false posts about Union Minister Nitin Gadkari spread widely on social media.Police said some unknown social media accounts shared misleading information and objectionable content about the minister. The posts were allegedly created to harm his public image and confuse people online.
After a complaint was filed, the cyber police started an investigation under the IT Act and other legal sections. Officials are now trying to find who created the posts and from where they were uploaded. Digital evidence is also being collected.According to police sources, the viral posts included claims that were not supported by official facts. The content was shared many times before authorities noticed it and began action.
Police have warned citizens not to share unverified information on social media. Officials said strict action will be taken against anyone spreading fake or defamatory content online.Cybercrime and fake news cases have increased in recent years, and police departments are now closely monitoring social media platforms to stop misinformation quickly.
