Porvorim, 13th march 2026: Recommendation letters for compassionate appointments were extended to 42 eligible beneficiaries under the Government of Goa’s Compassionate Appointment Scheme at Mantralaya. The initiative reaffirms the Government’s commitment to supporting families of Government servants facing hardship. It aims to provide timely assistance to families dealing with difficult circumstances.

The scheme provides employment opportunities to dependent family members of Government servants who have passed away while in service or retired on medical grounds, ensuring timely support and financial stability for families during challenging times.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said, “Through the Compassionate Appointment Scheme, our Government seeks to support families of Government servants who face hardship due to the loss of a loved one while in service or retirement on medical grounds. The scheme ensures that dependent family members receive timely employment support and financial stability, helping them overcome difficult circumstances with dignity.”
CM Dr. Sawant further stated that since 2019, the Government of Goa has recommended 439 compassionate appointments. With the latest distribution, the total number of beneficiaries since the scheme’s inception in 2007 has reached 1,286 across various Government departments.
Guided by the principles of Antyodaya, Sarvodaya and Gramodaya, the Government of Goa continues to strengthen the Compassionate Appointment Scheme to ensure that families of Government servants receive timely support while working towards the vision of Viksit Goa and Viksit Bharat.
