Nagpur: Winter is slowly coming to an end and temperatures are starting to rise in many parts of India. People are beginning to feel the early signs of summer, but at the same time the weather is changing suddenly in several regions.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert for nine states. According to the department, light to moderate rainfall may occur over the next four days. People have been asked to stay careful as weather conditions may change quickly.
Strong winds are also expected along with rain, with speeds reaching around 40 to 45 km per hour in some areas.
Rain may start within the next few hours in Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Karnataka. Snowfall is also possible in the hilly areas of Jammu & Kashmir and Uttarakhand.
Tamil Nadu and Kerala may receive heavy rain on February 21 and 22 with strong winds. Later, on February 23 and 24, Chhattisgarh and Odisha are likely to see moderate rainfall.
Maharashtra Weather Update
In Maharashtra, temperatures are expected to increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the coming days. The sky may remain cloudy in some places, and a few areas could receive light rain. The state is slowly moving toward summer, though occasional showers are still possible.
People are advised to follow weather updates and take precautions during strong winds and sudden rain.
