New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has spoken strongly about the recent controversy in Prayagraj. He said not everyone can become a Shankaracharya and no one has the right to disturb peace or break rules. He added that everyone must follow limits and respect the law.
Yogi said that when crores of devotees gather at one place, safety becomes the most important thing. He explained that if people try to enter from the same route where others are leaving, it can cause a stampede. According to him, a responsible person would never act in a way that puts people’s lives in danger.
The issue started on Mauni Amavasya when Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati reached the Sangam in Prayagraj with around 200 supporters for a holy dip. Officials said barriers were broken and there was confusion for several hours. The administration claimed action was taken to control the crowd and maintain order.
Meanwhile, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized Yogi Adityanath and called him a “fake yogi.” The matter has now turned into a political debate, with both sides accusing each other.
