Mumbai: Unseasonal rain is continuing in Maharashtra, and farmers are getting worried. In the last 4–5 days, many areas have seen rain and even hail, which has damaged crops.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) says that the rain may continue for a few more days. Between March 21 and March 25, many places can get light to medium rain with thunder and lightning.
Areas like North Maharashtra, Marathwada, and Vidarbha have been warned. In Vidarbha, some districts may also get hailstorms. Other places are seeing cloudy weather with light rain.
The weather office in Nagpur says that rain in Vidarbha will stay strong for the next 2 days.
Just last week, Vidarbha was very hot, with temperatures above 40°C. Now, rain has given some relief from heat, but it is causing problems for farmers.
Experts say a weather system has formed over Vidarbha, which is bringing this rain. Because of this, rain and hail may continue till March 22.
Districts like Gondia, Chandrapur, Nagpur, Bhandara, Latur, and Dharashiv may see rain with thunder in the next 1–2 days.
Continuous rain is damaging crops, and farmers are facing losses.
