Mumbai: There is a lot of discussion on social media about the personal life of South Indian superstar Thalapathy Vijay. Reports claim that problems in his marriage have become serious after rumours of an alleged relationship with an actress.
According to several media discussions, Vijay’s wife Sangeeta Sornalingam has reportedly filed for divorce in a family court in Chengalpattu. In the petition, she is said to have accused her husband of betrayal and mentioned his closeness with an unnamed actress, though no official confirmation has been given.
Soon after this news spread, many social media users started guessing the actress’s identity. Online discussions strongly linked the rumours to actress Trisha Krishnan. Fans began sharing old photos and videos of Vijay and Trisha, which increased speculation.
The controversy also brought back old rumours involving Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. Film producer Geetha Krishna, in a past interview, had claimed that Mahesh Babu and Trisha were once secretly close. He said the situation came to light after Mahesh Babu’s wife Namrata Shirodkar reportedly learned about it and handled the matter privately.
The rumours became stronger when Trisha shared a birthday selfie for Vijay in June 2024 with heart and infinity emojis. Later, in December 2024, both actors were seen attending actress Keerthy Suresh’s wedding in Goa, where photos from a private airport went viral online. Some fans even claimed to spot Vijay’s shoes in one of Trisha’s social media posts.
However, neither Vijay nor Trisha has officially reacted to these rumours. So far, all claims remain unconfirmed, and the truth behind the speculation is still unclear.
