New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah faced a technical issue in his helicopter while landing during his visit to Assam for election campaigning. The incident happened when the helicopter was about to touch down at the helipad in Gauripur (Golakganj area).
Due to the sudden technical problem, the pilot decided not to land the helicopter as a safety measure. As a result, Amit Shah’s scheduled public rally in Golakganj had to be cancelled.
According to initial reports, the issue was related to a technical fault detected during landing. The pilot followed safety protocols and avoided any risk to passengers on board. No injuries were reported, and Amit Shah remained safe throughout the incident.
Amit Shah was on a tour of Assam to campaign for the ongoing assembly elections. He was expected to address party workers and the public, focusing on development, security, and infrastructure projects in the state.
This is not the first time such an incident has occurred during election campaigning in India. Political leaders often travel extensively by helicopter, especially in remote areas where road travel is difficult. Aviation teams usually carry out strict safety checks, but occasional technical issues can still arise.
After the incident, local party leaders informed supporters about the cancellation of the rally and said that a new date may be announced soon..
