Mumbai: Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said that just having a photo “Link Found? Action Will Follow: CM Warns in Kharat Case”with an accused person does not make someone guilty. But he also made it clear that anyone connected to the case will be checked if there is proof.
He was speaking in the assembly about the case of Ashok Kharat, a self-styled astrologer who has been arrested for allegedly cheating and sexually exploiting many women. Fadnavis said strict action will be taken against him.
When MLA Bhaskar Jadhav asked if people seen in photos with Kharat would also be investigated, the Chief Minister replied that only those against whom evidence is found will face inquiry.
Police are now collecting details like phone records, money transactions, and other links. Officials believe more victims may come forward as the case moves ahead.
The government has promised a fair and strong investigation, and more people may be questioned if needed.
