Nagpur: Senior leader and educationist Datta Meghe was laid to rest with full state honours at his farm in Pawana (Pawna), Wardha. A large number of people, including political leaders and local citizens, gathered to pay their final respects.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Wardha Guardian Minister Pankaj Bhoyar, Nagpur Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, and Minister of State Ashish Jaiswal were present at the funeral ceremony.
Dattabhau Meghe was widely known for his contribution to education and social work in Maharashtra. He played a key role in establishing several educational institutions, helping thousands of students, especially in rural areas. He was also active in politics for many years and represented the Wardha region.
Many leaders praised his lifelong dedication to public service and education. They said his work will continue to inspire future generations. His passing is considered a big loss for the state, especially for the people of the Vidarbha region.
