Mumbai: India won against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2026 by 61 runs and entered the Super 8 round. The team played very well in both batting and bowling. But after the match, Indian players did not shake hands with Pakistan players, and this started a big discussion.
Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray group) leader Sanjay Raut strongly reacted to this. He said if India is playing the match, then players should behave like true sportsmen. “If you don’t want to respect the other team, then don’t play,” he said. According to him, once the match is over, players should greet each other.
Raut also said his party does not support playing matches against Pakistan because of the tension between the two countries. He repeated the stand of party chief Uddhav Thackeray, saying India should stop playing Pakistan until serious issues are solved.
Earlier, former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar had also said that not shaking hands does not look good in sports. Now the issue has become political, and many leaders are sharing their views on whether India should continue cricket matches with Pakistan.
