Rupali Chakankar Resigns amid Kharat Controversy

Rupali Chakankar has resigned from her post as head of the Maharashtra State Women’s Commission. This comes after a big controversy linked to Ashok Kharat.

Mumbai: Rupali Chakankar has resigned from her post as head of the Maharashtra State Women’s Commission. This comes after a big controversy linked to Ashok Kharat.

A few days ago, Ashok Kharat was arrested. After that, some photos and videos of him with Chakankar started spreading on social media. This created anger among people, as Kharat is accused in serious cases related to women.

Many people questioned her position, saying it was not right for a women’s commission head to be seen close to such a person. The issue quickly became political and pressure started building.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was also unhappy with the situation and reportedly asked her to step down. Other leaders also did not support her.

With pressure coming from all sides, Chakankar decided to resign. In her letter, she said she is leaving due to personal reasons and thanked everyone for their support.

Even though she mentioned personal reasons, many believe the resignation happened because of the Kharat case. This issue has now become an important topic in state politics.
