New Delhi: West Bengal politics is getting more exciting as Humayun Kabir joins hands with Asaduddin Owaisi and his party All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.
This alliance is mainly focusing on areas where many Muslim voters live, like Murshidabad, Malda, and some parts of Birbhum.
Instead of contesting many seats, AIMIM is planning to fight on fewer seats but give more attention to each one. They had used the same plan in Bihar and got good results.
The party says it has been working in these areas for a long time and now feels ready for the elections. Owaisi is also expected to visit Kolkata soon.
If this new team performs well, it may reduce votes for the ruling All India Trinamool Congress. But TMC leader Firhad Hakim says there is no need to worry and claims this alliance will not affect them.
Right now, Kabir’s Janata Unnayan Party is still small and strong only in a few areas, so its real impact will be seen during the elections.
Overall, this new alliance has made the election fight in West Bengal more interesting, especially in key districts.
