New Delhi: After a two-week ceasefire between United States and Iran, leaders in India have started reacting.
Asaduddin Owaisi criticised the Modi government. He said India should have tried to bring peace, but instead Pakistan did something. He said he feels bad that India could not act as a mediator even though Iran is closer to India. He also said the BJP is only trying to impress people with “a three-hour show.”
In Jammu and Kashmir, leaders had different views. Senior leader Farooq Abdullah welcomed the ceasefire. Speaking in Srinagar, he said war is not the answer and talks are the best way to solve problems.
But Chief Minister Omar Abdullah questioned the result of the war. In a post on X, he called it an “unjust war” and asked what the US gained after 40 days of fighting. He also said the Strait of Hormuz is open again, even though it was open before the war.
The ceasefire has brought some relief, but it has also started a debate in India about its role in such global matters.
