New Delhi: Government has asked people not to rush and buy extra petrol, diesel, or LPG out of fear. It said there is enough fuel available in the country and there is no need to worry.
This appeal comes as tensions rise between the US and Iran, and there are concerns about possible problems in the Strait of Hormuz, an important route for oil supply. Despite this, the government has made it clear that fuel supply in India is normal and running smoothly.
Officials said petrol pumps have enough stock, and cooking gas is also easily available. People are advised to trust only official updates and avoid spreading or believing rumours.
To make sure there is no shortage, the government has increased fuel production and is closely monitoring the situation. It is also giving priority to LPG and PNG supply for homes, hospitals, and other essential services.
At the same time, strict action is being taken against those trying to store fuel illegally or sell it at higher prices. Thousands of inspections have been carried out, and action has been taken against several distributors.
The government also shared that millions of LPG cylinders are being delivered daily, and most people are booking them online without any issue.
In short, authorities say the situation is under control, fuel is available, and people should stay calm and avoid panic buying.
