Nagpur: Big mistakes were found in the voter lists in many parts of Nagpur during the city elections. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari was also affected and showed his anger.
After voting in Mahal, Gadkari said that even his own family faced problems. He shared that four or five votes from his family were in one ward, while another vote was in a different ward. Many candidates and former corporators in the city faced the same issue.
Gadkari said voter lists must be made correct so that no one is stopped from voting. He said the Election Commission should take this matter seriously.
He also spoke about an attack on Ward 11 candidate Bhushan Shingne and called it “very sad.” Gadkari said people can have different views, but violence should not happen. He added that every citizen has the right to vote and should use it.Earlier, Gadkari met Shingne and promised action against those who attacked him. Shingne was hurt when a group of people attacked him in the Gorewada area while he was checking reports of money being shared. He suffered injuries on his face, lips, hands, and legs.
These events have raised worries about safety and fair voting in Nagpur.
