Mumbai: From March 1, several new rules will come into effect across India. These changes are related to railway ticket booking, UPI payments, bank balance rules, LPG gas prices, and messaging apps. The new rules may directly affect people’s daily life and household expenses.
Railway Ticket Booking System Changes
Indian Railways is introducing a new ticket booking system. The old mobile application used for booking general and platform tickets will stop working from March 1.
Passengers will now need to use a new app called Rail One App to book general tickets, platform tickets, and other railway services. Many travelers who used the old app daily will have to switch to the new system.
New Rules for UPI and Bank Accounts
Digital payments will become more secure from March 1. While sending large amounts through UPI, users may have to complete extra verification steps.
Apart from entering the UPI PIN, additional authentication like biometric verification may be required.
Banks will also calculate the Average Monthly Balance based on the monthly average, which may give some relief to customers.
Changes for WhatsApp and Telegram Users
Messaging apps may also see new rules. Apps like WhatsApp and Telegram will need to stay connected with an active SIM card.
If there is no active SIM in the phone, these apps may stop working. The step is aimed at improving security and reducing misuse.
LPG Gas Cylinder Price Update
Oil companies usually revise LPG gas cylinder prices on the first day of every month. So, new prices may be announced on March 1.
Domestic gas prices have remained stable for the past few months, while commercial cylinder prices have changed frequently. Any price revision can affect household budgets and business costs.
Impact on Daily Life
These new rules will influence many everyday activities — from cooking at home to making online payments and booking train tickets. People are advised to stay updated and make necessary changes in apps and payment methods.
