New Delhi :A nationwide strike (Bharat Bandh) has been called for Thursday, February 12. Ten big labour unions are protesting against the new labour laws made by the Central Government. Farmers’ groups and the Congress party have also supported the bandh.
Why are workers protesting?

Which unions are taking part?
The ten unions include INTUC, AITUC, HMS, CITU, AIUTUC, TUCC, SEWA, AICCTU, LPF and UTUC.
What will be closed?
There is no official order to close schools and colleges.
In some states like Kerala, Karnataka and Odisha, buses and other public transport may be affected.
Some public sector banks may not work properly as bank unions are joining the strike.
