Nashik: In the Ashok Kharat case, the Nashik District Court has sent Ashok Kharat to judicial custody (jail). The court has also ordered that he should be brought again for the next hearing tomorrow.
Kharat was presented in court through video call because of security reasons. The hearing was held in front of Judge B. N. Ichpurani. His lawyer Sachin Bhate and government lawyer Shailendra Bagde were present. The police officer in charge of the case, Kiran Kumar Suryavanshi, was also there.
Earlier, Kharat was in police custody till April 8. After that ended, he was brought to court today.
The court has now sent him to jail in another case too. Because of this, he will be taken to the central jail. Later, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) may take him again for further questioning in another case.
After the hearing, government lawyer Shailendra Bagde said that Kharat is involved in more than one case. He also said that permission has been given to take him into custody in a third case. Kharat will be brought to court again tomorrow.
