Mumbai: Central Railway has now added Marathi to its recruitment exams after strong objection from MNS leader Amit Thackeray.
Earlier, on March 16, 2026, the railway released a job notification. But the exam was only in Hindi and English. Marathi was not included. This made many people unhappy.
Amit Thackeray opposed this decision. He said it was unfair to Marathi youth. He warned that MNS would protest if Marathi was not added.
After this, Central Railway cancelled the old notification. On April 22, 2026, they released a new one. In this, Marathi has been included as an exam language.
This is seen as a big relief for Marathi students and job seekers.
