Mumbai; A big decision has been taken about the Class 10 board exams. The CBSE board has announced that students will now get two chances in one year to appear for the Class 10 examination.
At the same time, Class 10 exams have started in Maharashtra. The exams will continue till March 18. More than 16 lakh students are appearing this year. The education department has made strong arrangements to conduct exams smoothly. Flying squads and CCTV cameras are being used at many centres to stop cheating.
CBSE has clearly said that students must attend the first exam. If a student is absent in the first attempt, they will not be allowed to sit for the second exam. The board has also said that rules will be strict and no special permission will be given.
Students who do not appear in at least three subjects will be placed in the “Essential Repeat” category and will have to give the main exam again next year. However, students who pass will get a chance to improve marks in up to three subjects. The new system aims to reduce exam stress and help students score better.
