Nagpur: Winter has almost ended in Maharashtra, and the heat has started increasing even in February. Many parts of the state are now seeing temperatures above 35°C. Because of this sudden rise, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has given a Yellow Alert and asked people to be careful.
Coastal Areas Facing Humid Weather
Mumbai, Thane, Raigad and Palghar are feeling strong heat along with high humidity. The air is moist, which is making people feel more uncomfortable. Many residents are sweating more and finding it difficult to stay outdoors in the afternoon. The weather feels like peak summer even though it is still February.
Weather experts say that cold winds from the north have reduced, so the cool weather has disappeared. There is also no rain at present, and clear skies are allowing the sun to heat the land quickly.
Heat Increasing in Other Regions
In cities like Pune, Satara and Kolhapur, the cool mornings are gone. The afternoons are getting hotter day by day. Marathwada, including Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, is also seeing rising temperatures. In Vidarbha, places like Nagpur, Akola and Amravati are recording higher daytime temperatures.
The weather department says the heat may increase further in the next one or two days, especially in Marathwada and Vidarbha. Most parts of Maharashtra will continue to see clear skies and strong sunlight. People are advised to stay hydrated and avoid going out in the afternoon if not necessary.
