Panaji: Justice (Retd.) Sandeep Kashinath Shinde was sworn in as the Lokayukta of Goa at a solemn ceremony held at the historic Old Darbar Hall, Raj Bhavan. The oath of office was administered by the Hon’ble Governor of Goa Shri Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, the Chief Secretary, senior government officials and other distinguished dignitaries.
The swearing-in ceremony was conducted with due decorum and dignity, underscoring the importance of the Lokayukta as an independent institution entrusted with ensuring transparency and accountability in public administration. The appointment of Justice (Retd.) Shinde marks a significant step in further strengthening the State’s governance framework.
Speaking on the occasion, Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said, “I am confident that Justice (Retd.) Sandeep Kashinath Shinde will bring his vast judicial experience and integrity to the office of the Lokayukta. His leadership will further strengthen transparency and accountability in Goa.”
Justice (Retd.) Shinde brings with him extensive experience from his distinguished judicial career and is widely respected for his commitment to fairness and the rule of law. His tenure is expected to enhance public trust in the institution and reinforce the Government’s continued focus on good governance.
The ceremony concluded with formal greetings and congratulations extended to the newly sworn-in Lokayukta.
