Panaji: A three-day State-level exhibition on the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which commenced on 26 March at Kala Academy, is being held to showcase Goa’s progress in implementing the new criminal laws and strengthening the justice delivery system. The exhibition is designed to create awareness among the public, especially students and youth, by presenting complex legal processes in a simple and accessible manner.
The exhibition offers a comprehensive overview of the criminal justice process, from crime scene investigation to courtroom proceedings, while showcasing the State’s focus on modern, efficient and citizen-centric governance. The exhibition also features interactive displays explaining the functioning of various departments including Police, Fire Services, Prosecution, Forensic Science and Judiciary, demonstrating strong inter-departmental coordination. It also highlights advancements in forensic infrastructure, modern policing systems and digital integration, while offering insights into career opportunities in policing and forensic science.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant said, “Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Hon’ble Home Minister Amit Shah, India has transitioned from colonial-era laws to a modern, citizen-centric justice system.” He further stated, “The purpose of this exhibition is to create awareness among the public, especially our youth and students, and to make the justice system more accessible and efficient.” CM Dr. Pramod Sawant also highlighted that Goa has emerged as a leading state in the implementation of these laws and commended the Goa Police Department for its efforts in strengthening awareness, infrastructure and inter-departmental coordination.
Speaking on the occasion, Director General of Police Shri Alok Kumar said, “The entire system, including Police, Judiciary, Prosecution and Forensic Departments, has been digitally integrated to ensure faster and more transparent processes.” He added, “This achievement has been possible due to the continuous monitoring and guidance of the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary.”
The exhibition was attended by the Director General of Police Shri Alok Kumar, Director of Prosecution Smt. Poonam S. Bharne, Forensic Incharge and other senior officials of the Goa Police.
