New Delhi: After ED raids in West Bengal, CM Mamata Banerjee spoke strongly against the central government. She addressed a large crowd in Kolkata and made serious allegations.
Mamata Banerjee accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of taking money linked to the coal scam. She said she has proof saved in pen drives. She warned that if the centre and investigation agencies trouble her government more, she will share all the proof with the public.
Chief Minister said she stayed silent till now because she holds a constitutional post. But she added that if the “limit” is crossed, she will not remain quiet. She said revealing the truth could shock the entire country.
The ED raids were linked to an alleged illegal coal mining case under the money laundering law. The agency says large amounts of illegal money were involved in the case.
Mamata Banerjee denied stopping the investigation. She said she went to the raid site only as a party leader to protect her party’s election work.
Some critics asked why senior IAS and IPS officers were with her if she was there only as a party leader. This has started a fresh political debate.
Mamata Banerjee again claimed that the coal scam money finally reached Amit Shah. The political fight between the state and the centre has now become more intense.
