Mumbai: An important update has come for students in Maharashtra. The Class 12 board exams will start from tomorrow. The Maharashtra State Board held a press conference to share exam details.
Board Chairman Nandkumar Bedse said that some new changes have been made this year. Students are asked to be careful and follow all rules during the exams.
The Class 12 exams will be held from 10 February to 18 March 2026. The Class 10 exams will take place from 20 February to 18 March 2026.
This year, 15.32 lakh students will appear for the Class 12 exams across the state. The exams will be conducted at 3,387 centres. Out of these students, 7.99 lakh are from Science, 3.80 lakh from Arts, and 3.20 lakh from Commerce.
Help for Students
To make sure no student misses the exam, applications were accepted till 3 February. To reduce exam stress, two counsellors have been appointed in every district. The board has also appointed 10 counsellors at the state level. Students can contact them for help.
Some papers will start at 11 am, while others will start at 3 pm. Students must reach the exam centre 30 minutes early. Hall tickets are available through schools.
Change in Question Paper Reading Time
There is one big change this year. Earlier, students got 10 minutes to read the question paper before the exam. Now, students will get 10 minutes to read the paper after the exam starts. This extra time will be added at the end of the exam.
The board said this change is made to stop paper leak issues.
