Mumbai: France President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Mumbai on Tuesday with First Lady Brigitte Macron for a short visit to India. Their trip will continue till February 19.
They were welcomed at the airport by Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devvrat and CM Devendra Fadnavis,DCM Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar.
During this visit, President Macron will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi for important talks. Both leaders will start a new programme called “Year of Innovation 2026.” This plan will help India and France work together in new technology, especially in artificial intelligence (AI).
This is Macron’s fourth visit to India. In the past few years, both countries have become closer partners in defence, space projects, nuclear energy, climate action and education.
After finishing meetings in Mumbai, the French team will go to New Delhi. They will attend the India AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, where leaders and experts will discuss how AI can help people and the planet in the future.
