New Delhi: Whenever there is news about an eclipse, people get very excited. On February 17, 2026, the first solar eclipse of this year will happen. This will be an annular solar eclipse, where the Moon covers the middle part of the Sun and a bright ring can be seen around it. The event will last for more than three hours.
This solar eclipse will not be seen in India. It will be visible in parts of southern Africa, southern South America, Antarctica, and over the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. People in these places will be able to see the ring shape in the sky.
During the eclipse, the sky may look a little darker for some time. Scientists will also study the Sun during this period. Even though people in India cannot see this eclipse, many are still curious about it.
