"Cylinder Missing” slogans echo in Parliament amid LPG Crisis

There was heavy protest in the Lok Sabha on Friday over the LPG gas shortage in the country.

New Delhi: There was heavy protest in the Lok Sabha on Friday over the LPG gas shortage in the country. Opposition MPs started shouting slogans as soon as the Question Hour began. Leaders from the opposition, including Rahul Gandhi, demanded that eight suspended MPs should be allowed to return to the House.

Due to the protest, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla warned the members and asked them to maintain discipline. He said every MP must respect Parliament rules. As the shouting continued, the House was first stopped till 12 pm and later again till 2 pm.

Before the session, opposition leaders also protested in the Parliament complex. They held posters and raised slogans against the government over the LPG shortage. The leaders said many families across the country are facing problems because gas cylinders are not easily available.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said the situation has become difficult because of international developments. She said the government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is working to manage the situation and ensure enough resources. She also said opposition parties should support the government during such challenges instead of creating confusion.
