Mumbai: Congress party has decided to contest the by-elections in Baramati and Rahuri seats in Maharashtra. The party has received approval from senior leaders and has started preparations.
Candidates to Be Announced Soon
In Baramati, interviews of possible candidates have already been held. Many people have shown interest, so the party is taking time to choose the right person.
In Rahuri, the selection process is almost finished. The party may soon announce the final candidate. Congress leaders also said they will talk with alliance partners before confirming names.

State Congress chief Harshvardhan Sapkal said the party received 6 applications for Baramati and 4 for Rahuri. He added that talks with senior leaders are done, and the final decision will be shared soon.

Why These Elections Are Happening
The Rahuri seat became empty after BJP MLA Shivajirao Kardile passed away.
