Nagpur: Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said the BJP-led Mahayuti won big in the municipal elections because people trusted its work and vision for progress.
Thanking voters, he said the party believes that culture and development move together. “Hindutva is our base, and development is our path. You cannot separate the two,” he told supporters.
Fadnavis said the alliance went to the people with clear promises of better roads, services, and honest governance. “The citizens of Maharashtra gave us a strong mandate. After these results, Mahayuti will have mayors in 25 cities,” he said.
He added that the win shows people’s faith in PM Narendra Modi’s leadership. “Maharashtra has shown that it wants growth and stability,” he said.
Trends on Friday evening showed the Mahayuti leading in most city corporations across the state, including Mumbai. In the BMC, the alliance crossed the majority mark, with the BJP emerging as the biggest party and Shiv Sena also gaining key seats.
