Mumbai: Government of Maharashtra presented the Budget 2026 with many new announcements for development and social work. Finance Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the state’s economy is strong and is expected to grow by 7.9% this year.
According to the Economic Survey 2025–26, growth is happening in farming, industries, and the service sector. Big investments in roads, infrastructure, and steps to make business easier have helped the state’s economy grow.
Fadnavis also announced that the government will build a Sant Gadge Baba Pilgrimage Circuit to promote religious tourism and connect important places related to Sant Gadge Baba.
The government will also organize special social programs to celebrate 200 years since the birth of social reformer Jyotirao Phule on April 11. Funds will be provided for these activities.
During the speech, Fadnavis said the first phase of the memorial of Bal Thackeray has been completed. He also said that this year’s budget is dedicated to Ajit Pawar. A new “Gatiman Nagari Award” will also be started in Ajit Pawar’s name, and a memorial will be built for him.
Fadnavis said the government wants to make Maharashtra’s economy reach 5 trillion dollars by 2047 and become one of the strongest economies in India.
