Sangli: Sameer Gaikwad, who was an accused in the murder case of social activist Govind Pansare, died early today (January 20) in Sangli. He suffered a heart attack and passed away while receiving treatment at the Civil Hospital.
Late at night, Gaikwad suddenly felt severe pain in his chest and became uneasy. His family rushed him to the hospital, but doctors could not save him. He was declared dead in the early morning hours.
Gaikwad had been on bail for the last four years. He was living with his family in the Vikas Chowk area of Sangli. His sudden death has left his family in deep shock. People from the neighborhood and relatives gathered at his home after hearing the news.

Govind Pansare was a well-known social worker and thinker. In 2015, he was shot by unknown attackers in Kolhapur while returning from a morning walk. He later died during treatment. His wife was also injured in the attack.
