Mumbai: A big update has come from Mumbai. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has temporarily seized businessman Anil Ambani’s luxury residence called ‘Abode’. The house is located in the Pali Hill area and is believed to be worth about 3,716 crore.
Officials said the action was taken under money-laundering laws as part of an ongoing investigation against companies linked to Ambani’s business group. So far, the ED has attached assets worth over 15,000 crore in related cases.
The action came after the Bombay High Court cancelled an earlier temporary relief connected to the case. Earlier, some bank accounts linked to Reliance Communications had received protection from legal action, but that order is now no longer valid.
The seized property is a 17-storey building. Officials say the attachment is temporary while the investigation continues. Reports also suggest that Anil Ambani may be called again for questioning, as he was earlier questioned in 2025 under anti-money-laundering rules.
