New Delhi: Session Budget Session of Parliament is going on. On Tuesday, there was a big disturbance in the Lok Sabha during the speech of opposition leader Rahul Gandhi.
While Rahul Gandhi was speaking, some opposition MPs started shouting and protesting. A few MPs climbed on tables and threw papers towards the Speaker’s chair. Because of this, the House became very noisy and work had to be stopped.
After this incident, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla took strict action. He suspended eight opposition MPs for the rest of the Budget Session. These MPs will not be allowed to attend or take part in Lok Sabha meetings. One of the suspended MPs is from Maharashtra.
Names of Suspended MPs
The suspended MPs are Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, Dean Kuriakose, Kiran Kumar Reddy, Manickam Tagore, Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Hibi Eden, S. Venkateswaran and Prashant Padole.
Prashant Padole is an MP from Bhandara, Maharashtra. They were suspended for throwing papers in the House and not respecting the Speaker’s chair.
Dispute Over China Issue
The problem started when Rahul Gandhi talked about the China issue in the Lok Sabha. This led to arguments and stopped the House work in the morning.
The House started again at 2 pm. Rahul Gandhi continued his speech and again spoke about the China–US deal. The Speaker asked him many times to speak only on the President’s Address, but he kept raising the China issue.
Later, the Speaker stopped Rahul Gandhi from speaking. This made opposition MPs angry. Some MPs climbed on tables and threw papers, which created more chaos.
After this disorder, the Speaker suspended the eight MPs involved in the incident.
