Big claim: Iran Navy chief Tangsiri killed in Israeli strike

Iran Navy chief Alireza Tangsiri reportedly killed in Israeli strike; Iran yet to confirm, tensions may rise.

New Delhi: Iran’s top naval officer Alireza Tangsiri has reportedly been killed in an attack by Israel, according to Israeli media and officials.

The attack is said to have taken place in Bandar Abbas, an important port city of Iran. This city is close to the Strait of Hormuz, which is one of the world’s most important routes for oil transport.

Reports say Israel targeted this area to weaken Iran’s navy power. Tangsiri was the head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Navy and had earlier warned that Iran could block the Strait of Hormuz during war.

However, Iran has not yet confirmed his death.

Tension between Iran and Israel has been increasing for a long time. If this news turns out to be true, it could make the situation worse and also affect oil prices around the world.

More details are still awaited.
