Social activist Trupti Desai said she fears that Kharat might be killed in an encounter.

Mumbai: Self-styled godman Ashok Kharat has been arrested for sexually abusing women. He is in police custody till March 24. At the same time, rumours about his possible encounter have created tension.

The case started when one woman filed a rape complaint against him. After that, more women came forward with similar accusations. Police believe he used fake spiritual tricks to trap women. There are also claims that many videos related to these crimes exist, and some have spread online.

Police have also arrested one of his staff members. People are now demanding strict punishment for him.
