Guardian Minister Prakash Abitkar shared this information after the meeting.
People Welcome the Decision
People’s representatives and cricket fans in Kolhapur have welcomed this decision. There has been a demand for an international cricket stadium in Kolhapur for many years. Many leaders were following up on this issue.
Now, after the approval, Kolhapur will be able to host national and international cricket matches.
Chance to Watch International Matches
The last international cricket match in Kolhapur was held in the 1980s at Chhatrapati Shivaji Stadium, when India played against West Indies. After that, no international match was held in the city because there was no international-level stadium.
Once the new stadium is completed, people of Kolhapur will finally get a chance to watch international cricket matches in their own city.
