New Delhi: A tragic road accident took place in Yadgir district, leaving six people dead. The incident happened near Shantagiri Cross in Surpur taluka when a private bus and a car crashed into each other.
The bus was going from Bengaluru to Kalaburagi, while the car was coming from the opposite side. Police said the car was trying to overtake another vehicle when it hit the bus.
After the crash, the bus caught fire. Passengers quickly tried to get out to save their lives. Many people managed to escape, but six passengers got trapped inside and died in the fire. All the victims were from the same family and were returning from a religious trip.
Several other passengers were injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.
Fire brigade teams reached the spot and controlled the fire, but the bus was badly burnt. Local people also rushed to help after the accident. The incident has caused sadness in the area.
