New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi is visiting Malaysia for two days. On Saturday, he met members of the Indian community in Kuala Lumpur and spoke about the close friendship between the two countries.PM Modi said the welcome he received in Malaysia shows how much love and respect people there have for India. He said India will always remember this warm feeling.
PM Modi shared that he was unable to come to Malaysia last year but had promised to visit soon. He said he is happy to keep that promise now. This is also his first overseas visit in the year 2026.He said Indian songs, films, and culture are well liked in Malaysia. PM Modi also said that many schools in Malaysia teach Indian languages, which helps people from both countries stay connected.
PM Modi said India and Malaysia are growing together and share old cultural ties. He mentioned that many people in Malaysia admire Swami Vivekananda. He also said that he had spoken about Malaysia earlier in his radio show.During his speech, PM Modi announced that India’s digital payment system, UPI, will soon be available in Malaysia. He said when India grows, Malaysia also grows.
