Nagpur: Nagpur has a new District Collector as IAS officer Kumar Ashirvad officially took charge of the post today. He assumed responsibility from Dr. Vipin Itankar during a formal handover process.
Kumar Ashirvad is known for his strong administrative skills and professional approach. He completed his engineering studies from IIT Kharagpur before joining the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Over the years, he has worked in different roles across Maharashtra, gaining experience in governance, public service delivery, and development projects.
After taking charge, Ashirvad said his focus will be on improving basic facilities, speeding up development work, and ensuring better coordination between government departments. He also highlighted the importance of public participation and transparency in administration.
Officials believe that under his leadership, Nagpur may see faster progress in areas like infrastructure, digital governance, and welfare schemes. Citizens are also hopeful that ongoing projects in the district will get a boost and new initiatives will be introduced for overall growth.
