Kolhapur: A mystery has deepened in Kolhapur district after former Patgaon sarpanch Mahesh Pilankar disappeared nearly two months ago. Even after weeks of investigation, the police have not been able to find any clear clue about where he is.
Pilankar suddenly went missing, and since then the police have been searching and questioning people related to the case. However, no solid information has come out so far. This has created fear and concern among local residents.
Recently, some burnt bones were found in the Patgaon area. Officials are waiting for a forensic report to confirm what they are. Early information suggests that the bones may belong to an animal, but the final report is still pending.
As days pass without answers, Pilankar’s family members and several social activists have started protesting. They are demanding that the police speed up the investigation and find out what really happened.
Activist Satishchandra Kamble said that in the Beed Massajog case, the police had explained the incident clearly. But in this case, no detailed information is being shared, which is increasing doubts among people.
Pilankar’s family recently met the district police chief Yogeshkumar Gupta and submitted a request for faster action. The police have said that a special team has been formed and the case is being investigated from every possible angle.
Mahesh Pilankar was a well-known figure in the Patgaon area and was reportedly preparing for upcoming local elections. Police say they will also check if there is any political reason behind his disappearance.
For now, the search continues, while his family and villagers wait for answers about what happened to the missing former sarpanch.
